Harmful if swallowed. Highly flammable.

First Aid Measures

GENERAL:

INHALATION: Remove from exposure, rest and keep warm. In severe cases, or if recovery is not rapid or complete, seek medical attention.
INGESTION: If swallowed DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Keep at rest and seek medical attention.
SKIN: Drench the skin with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. If large areas of the skin are damaged, or if irritation persists seek medical attention.
EYES: Irrigate thoroughly with water for at least 10 minutes. Obtain medical attention.

 

Fire Fighting Measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Dry powder, carbon dioxide, foam. Water jets should never be used.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES:
UNUSUAL FIRE & EXPLOSION HAZARDS:
In normal conditions of storage and handling , this product does not present a serious hazard. However in high temperature operating conditions, the fire hazard is significantly increased. If such conditions prevail adequate positive ventilation should be provided.

Accidental Release Measures:

SPILL CLEANUP METHODS:

Land spills: Eliminate sources of ignition. Shut off source, taking normal precaution to prevent ignition and minimise personal exposure to liquid or vapour. Prevent liquid entering sewers, water course or low lying areas. Advise relevant authorities if material has entered a water course, or sewer or has contaminated soil or vegetation. Take measures to minimise the effect on ground water. Contain spilled product with booms and other suitable absorbents and remove mechanically into containers.

Water spills: Eliminate sources of ignition. Removal by skimming or with suitable absorbents, seeking specialist advice where appropriate.

Handling and Storage

USAGE PRECAUTIONS: Adequate ventilation should be provided.
STORAGE PRECAUTIONS: Temperature Range : Cool
Humidity Range : Dry

Containers should be stored away from heat sources or open flames in a ventilated area. Keep separate from more volatile products and away from any material which would be contaminated by inadvertent spillage e.g. food or rendered more flammable.

Exposure Controls and Personal Protection:

Exposure limits : In circumstances of normal use this product constitutes a low level of hazard to health or safety. Recommended that personal exposures are controlled below 100ppm (8hr TWA) Inhalation of product vapour in high temperature, poorly ventilated conditions can give rise to acute effects, while protracted liquid/skin contact can lead to irritation and may cause dermatitis. These conditions should be avoided.

 

Protective measures:

RESPIRATORS: Type approved RPE, or suitable LEV. Where significant exposure is possible wear self- contained breathing apparatus.
PROTECTIVE GLOVES:
PVC gloves.
EYE PROTECTION:
Goggles or faceshield
OTHER PROTECTION: Overalls and boots
